VALE
This morning at 9.15am EDST, Monday the 18 January 2021. The world became a sadder place and contains a great void in the hearts of many.
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to inform all of the passing of:-
Raymond C. ROBINSON
“Robbo”
19/08/1953 – 18/01/2021
Registered No: 16203
Sergeant Retired, New South Wales Police Force
Class No: 138 14/01/1974 – 25/02/1974 Attested Pro/Constable
25/02/1975 Confirmed to Constable
25/02/1979 Promoted to Constable 1st Class
25/02/1983 Promoted to Senior Constable
Promoted to Sergeant 1989
Section 66 Inspector
What can I say Robbo was a close friend to myself and many others and a brother of the Thin Blue Line. He will be sadly missed by one and all even those that did not have the honour of meeting him in person. He was a larger than life character and a mentor to many in Law Enforcement and the Motorcycling world.
Robbo has ridden on ahead to check the roads and rides for those of us that will eventually join him.
R.I.P Brother, Til Valhalla
Funeral arrangements will be posted once they come to hand. Please keep Fay, Ashley and Robbo’s extended family in your thoughts and prayers at this of saddest time.

Brian told me once how he got the nickname Lizard.
He apparently used to work for the PMG, then later Telecom and now Telstra.
He was a linesman or similar, and he had a habit of falling asleep anywhere, any time, on a log, or whatever sunning himself, hence Lizard.
Well that was the version he told me.
He also told me another storey, which I will clean up here for public consumption.
Lizard liked a beer or three or more, well most of us have done this at one stage or another in our lives/service. He said he was so drunk one night that a took what he believed was a beautiful lady that he referred to as a “Tahitian Princess” to a hotel room for the night.
He could not remember much of the night of passion apparently.
Well the next day he woke up with (this is where I clean up the story) a very unattractive ugly female in bed. She laid across his arm asleep. He obviously woke up first, feeling the worst for wear. He did not want to wake her as she was apparently quite ugly. He figured he had two choices. Chew his arm off so as not to wake her, or just jump out of bed and run.
He apparently chose the latter choice. Now that is the clean version. Apparently a true story.
Oh The life of Brian.

Nothing further, other than what is recorded above, is known at the time of publication.

Dennis Leslie NEATE

Over 50 years proudly serving the Police Family

Here is a brief history of the development of Police Bank.

1970-79

Rapid Growth of Services
The Credit Union employed its first full time administration officers in 1970 to meet the growing demand for services. By late 1971, membership had reached 2,583 and deposits grew by over half a million dollars from the previous year. By 1972 the organisation was lending nearly $50,000 per month.

Appointed Representatives
Bob Dines became Chairman in 1970 with Arthur Sharp taking on the General Manager role the following year, a position he would hold for over a decade. Ian Pettit, Terry Seery, John Gorman, Bob Page, Merv Taylor and Alan Dahl joined as Directors in the early to mid seventies. Alan Dahl was elected Chairman in 1975 with the auditing firm, Nicholls & Thomas (Kevin Thomas principal), appointed in the same year.

Around this time the Credit Union appointed Dennis Neate as a ‘Field & Promotions Officer'(the forerunner to our Business Development Officers of today) to increase awareness of Police Credit Union across the state.

Pedal car from childhood restored for 91-year-old owner

Patricia (Patsy) Browne, 91, couldn’t believe her eyes when daughter Yvette Graf took her on a surprise visit to the Sutherland Shire Toy Restoration Centre at Jannali.

Dennis Leslie NEATE, Dennis NEATE, Patricia (Patsy) Browne

Waiting to be picked up was the toy pedal car Mrs Browne adored as a child, beautifully restored to its original condition by volunteer Dennis Neate, a retired policeman and former panel beater.

The pedal car, which was made in 1929 – the same year Mrs Browne was born – was a present from her grandfather Herbert Cato, who was a car dealer, mechanic and served petrol at Cato’s Garage in Clare, South Australia.

The car was painted light green, the same as Mr Cato’s Buick.

Mrs Browne, of Caringbah South, has very strong memories of pedalling her little car around the large garage and parking it next to her grandfather’s vehicles within white lines, which he had painted on the concrete floor specially for her.

“I used to be able to go backwards easily when parking it,” she recalled.

“I used to check the readings as I knew one should. There were transfers on the dashboard for fuel level, battery charge and speedo.”

Mrs Browne said the pedal car had been “almost around the world since then”.

“It’s been shared with everyone in the family and now it’s back with me.

“Yvette had it last and I noticed it was missing.

“I thought someone might be trying to fix it up, but had no idea of what she was organising.

“Then, one day she said to me, ‘I am going to take you out on Saturday and you have wear something that’s better than your gardening clothes.’

“It was a wonderful surprise and I am very grateful.”

Mrs Browne’s recollections of the car of her childhood were written down, along with her mother’s other memories, by Ms Graf and guided Mr Neate, who also did a lot of independent research.

“It had strong celluloid windscreen with a transfer on the corner, a fake light on one side and a magnificent horn with a trumpet and rubber squeeze tube,” the notes said.

“I think it had a new bumper bar and a pedal set up which included the two rods to the rear wheels.

“There was a mascot on front of the bonnet, some sort of cross, I think. It was a soft moss green with thin strip paint lines on the ventilators, at side of engine, and also along the bonnet body and the outer ridges of the mudguards and wheels.”

Sutherland Shire Toy Restoration Centre, which is operated by volunteers, reopened in June in an amended arrangement after the COVID-19 shutdown.

Takings have recovered to the extent that the centre recently gave $10,000 to charities assisting with food support because of Covid.

There have been many great artists and observers, from Da Vinci to Darwin, who have drawn nature from life by observing it in its natural habitat. Here we have a previously undiscovered collection of life drawings of NSW cops in their natural surroundings (you really need to read this in a voice that sounds like Sir David Attenborough). Many thanks to Kade May for loaning these excellent drawings by her father Senior Constable Dennis Neate.

15 December 2020
Notification of Death of former Incremental Sgt Michael HAYMAN, formerly of Kingscliff Police Station within the Tweed Heads District.
Mick passed away at Tweed Heads District Hospital last Saturday 12 December, 2020 from Cancer.
He will be cremated at the Tweed Heads Crematorium next Monday 21 December, 2020.
A service will be held at that Crematoriums Chapel, commencing 2.00pm Daylight saving time. Anyone interested in attending may do so and there will be a large screen video link of the service outside if there are more numbers than are permissible within the Chapel.
Briefly, Mick served with A.D.F, Royal Australian Engineers for six years with a tour of Vietnam in 1966 & two following consecutive tours of Malaya.
He later joined the N.S.W Police force in February 1970, being attached to Penrith, Broken Hill, Murwillumbah and Kingscliff before being discharged, H.O.D on 6 October 1999 and retired to Murwillumbah.
Mick unfortunately spent the last five years of his life in Buppa Nursing Home at Pottsville Beach after suffering a fall in his home resulting in brain trauma.
He is survived by three adult sons and a daughter.
Mick was a larger than life character and a pretty good operator. He enjoyed life when he was able to and played harder than possibly any other person I have met.
I have known a few A graders over the years but for consistency, Mick was definitely in a league of his own.
Lest we forget.

LEADERS WALK RELAY FOR LIFE

02 Nov 2011

Dallas Warrick STIRTON, Dallas STIRTON

Our school leaders, together with Taylor Stirton recently participated in the Central Coast Relay for Life at Mingara.

These students combined to walk for approx 18 hours to help raise funds for cancer research.  They secured sponsorship and took on this enormous endeavour under the Toukley Public School name.

Betty and Dallas Stirton, parents of school captain Zac supported the students all the way through this adventure, including walking with them throughout the night.

Mr Stirton provided a football boot signed by legend Andrew (Joey) Johns to raffle toward this wonderful cause.

All who participated were very tired after the event, however they found the whole experience very rewarding.

From Dave MORRIS:

With regret I can let all his mates know, that Bob Allgood slipped away on Saturday night (28/11) at home, surrounded by family after a long battle with the rotten cancer.

His wife, Wendy just rang to let me know. There has been a private family celebration of Bobs’ life, and at his request there will be no other service.

Bob is remembered, by some, for his VW Beetle ( that he owned ) with DOG number plates.

Sad news to hear of Swoopey’s passing. Worked with Bob from 73 -76 at NTH Syd. A few trips to Bathurst was always a great week away.
Did a wide load with Bob out in NSW, he went outside from the motel and came back with a rock. “ What’s the rock for Swoopey?” He told me he always took a rock from wherever he went and took it home for his wife. Little things that we do. RIP Bob, thanks for your service and training you gave me.

RIP Bobby. It was a pleasure to have you as my boss at 16 Division. Remember the nights you would come & find Chris Berry & myself with our tea set up on the bonnet whilst performing radar duty on Mona Vale Road. You always found us Swoopey. Gone but not forgotten. Say hello to grumpy. Two of the best bosses you could ever hope to have. Thank you for your service.

Nothing further, than what is recorded above, is known about this man at the time of publication.

RIP Bobby. Worked with him at the Daceyville section in the 70’s. Remember his number plate was DOG ??? And he often came out to find a picture of a dog stuck over his number plate. A great Sergeant to work under.

Back in my early days Constables no class, usually only drove an unmarked car when in company with a senior man.
I went down to 29 Div thinking just that. 2 marked cars and 2 unmarked..1 was radar car, the other a patrol car.
Bob Allgood was the Sgt..I started working 5am to 1p shifts..to catch the speeders in the early mornings.
Going up Pittwater road heading for work…Warriewood straight was the place to nail em if not before..within 2 weeks Allgood promoted me to unmarked car status..his thinking if I could nail that many in a marked car. I would be deadly in an unmarked one.

One of the Facebook messages between Charlie and myself on the 11 September 2018:

LMiss 1 & Mr 2OL It’s all good Greg, I didn’t think I would have made it into one of those “Stud” books anyways, I just wasn’t studdy enough for the Stud Book. I emailed the Dept via their web page and got a reply from some S/C.  I just thought I’d update you just in case you kept on looking.  And for future reference when you put me on the Fallen Police group site, my rego was 26802 LOL

Well Charlie, I had to use that Registered number tonight my friend.  Little did we know, 2 years ago, that I would use it so soon.

  *   *   *   *

You were one funny bugger that I loved working with and associating with over the years.

Although we had not seen each other for several years, we tried to catch up last time I was in Victoria.

No matter how long it was between conversations, we always started up from where we left off the last time we spoke.

We always had each others back and it was a bloody pleasure of mine to work with a bloke such as yourself.  I loved the ethics and banter between us.

Rest In Eternal Peace my friend – until we meet again.

My family and I regret to inform everyone that my beloved father, Hasan Ataman Atlas, ( Adam Atlas) has passed away this afternoon ( Monday 14 September 2020 ).
Thank you to everyone who has showed their support these past few weeks. It has been a massive struggle for the entire family.
All I can say is, my brother and I were by his side the entire time. Everyone can be at ease knowing he passed away peacefully.
Our father’s funeral will be held tomorrow.
Unfortunately due to COVID-19, we are unable to have people attend his funeral. However, we will live stream on Facebook for those who would wish to be there virtually.
It will be a little bit after the Islamic afternoon prayer ( Dhuhr ) which is at 12.15pm ( Melbourne time ). I will update again tomorrow.
Allahım seni rahmet eylesin baba. İnşallah cennetin en yüksek katında yerin olur. Seni çok seviyoruz ve asla unutmacağız. Hep kalbimizdesin.
Family and friends, please make Dua for my father’s soul. Rest easy Baba xxx

Testimonials
“My family and I have been dealing with Ataman Atlas for 4 months now. The very first call I got after news spread that we chose Atlas Legal to represent us was someone begging me : “Change your lawyer!”. And I’m so glad we didn’t. If you are looking for a multi million dollar office with fancy cars and a sexy receptionist in high heels, Atlas Legal is not the firm for you. However if you are looking for lawyers who will actually care about your case and your family, lawyers willing to explain the law to you in layman terms, lawyers you can call after hours during an emergency and lawyers with relevant advice to get you the results you want, you’ve come to the right place. I was not paid for this review.”

“Thank you so very much for your kind words and candour. We do our best to look after our clients best interests and as a result we make some enemies along the way. That is just a part of life for us. Our clients know us the best.”

9 September 2020
We are deeply saddened by the recent loss of Darrin Voss who tragically lost his battle with cancer last week.
Many of you would know Darrin who was a very active member of our community but more importantly the gorgeous father of Chloe, Zahra and Ashton and husband to Tania.
Chloe Voss has umpired and played for Flinders and SCNA for many years. She has represented SCNA for the past four years at State Age and This year is our 15 Gold Captain.
It so difficult to find the right words but we hope Chloe and her family know that we are here for them in this difficult time.
This week in memory of Darrin we united across all clubs, at the courts, wearing his footy colours.
A memorial service will be held for Darrin at 10:00 this Thursday.
Due to COVID unfortunately numbers are reduced at the venue but for family and friends that would like to celebrate the memory of Darrin you can join via video.

Dear Giants Family,

It is with great sadness that today we mourn the loss of our friend and fellow clubman Darrin VOSS.

This morning he lost his battle with cancer and passed away peacefully at 2.30am.

He came from the CAMPSIE family of Cops which many of us came from.
He was a fighter with a giant heart, great Cop, footy player, friend and family man. He leaves behind a beautiful family and many friends.

He passed away from a rare form of liver cancer which sadly spread.
In this photo he is seen with good friend and clubman Nigel Webber.

We will always remember him and we will play with Vossy in our hearts.

May God bless him, his family and his friends.

Vale Darrin Voss.

Nambour parkrunners I have some sad news to share tonight.
Today our little community lost a rare treasure today.
Darrin Voss who many of you know through Anytime Fitness Nambour lost his short battle with illness and passed away this morning.
What many of you may not know is that without Darrin there would not be a Nambour parkrun.
Darrin had a vision to bring parkrun to Nambour as a healthy and fun way to connect the community.
He originally approached me in March 2015 and together we searched Nambour and surrounds for the perfect course. There was nothing that would really inspire people to come to Nambour to run 5km until 1 day driving back from checking a potential course at Bli Bli I looked up at the towers on Radar Hill Rd and said there is 1 more place I can show you but trust me, parkrun will never agree to letting us have a parkrun there because it’s 100% trails with hills, no toilets or water except in the creek.
I took him out to Parklands and around the Rocky Creek circuit and of course he was hooked. I said again there was no way this would be allowed but he was determined to ask the question.
The answer from parkrun was if you can raise the money Nambour can have a parkrun there.
Straight away Darrin kicked in a generous donation and organised another donation from another local business.
The Sunshine Coast Council contributed the balance and on 21 November 2015 Nambour parkrun was launched.
Thank you Darrin for your vision, your hard work, your enthusiasm, your generosity and all you contributed to our community.
Nambour has lost a very special person today and our thoughts are with your wife Tania and beautiful family.

‘Multiple gym owner, law student, ex police officer…and all-round good guy.’
That was how I described Darrin Voss when we chatted on my show nearly four years ago.
Sadly, Darrin died today after a brave battle with cancer.
Devastating news like this stops you in your tracks.
I can only imagine what his family is going through right now.
You were always top shelf in my book Darrin Voss. RIP mate

GOAL $50,000

I appreciate this will come as a complete shock to everyone but our dear friend Darrin Voss (Vossy) was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer in late May this year and has been in the fight of his life over the past 2 months trying to overcome this terrible condition.

The primary cancer formed in what is known as his billary tree and a secondary tumor has formed on his liver.

The cancer is extremely rare and very aggressive and Darren was immediately put onto a strong course of Chemotherapy.

The tumors have caused significant complications with his digestive system and about 3 weeks ago Darrin underwent major surgery to clear blockages in his bile duct and portal vein in his liver.

While the operation was successful, it put him back a few weeks with his chemo and unfortunately the tumors have continued to grow in this time and his health and strength have continued to deteriorate.

Everyone that knows Darrin will understand he is not one to ask for help, however this is a fight he just can’t handle alone.

Tania, Zahra, Chloe and Ashton have been so resilient, getting on with life best they can and dealing with the daily challenges but now they need our help.

Any donation big or small will help Darrin and Tania and their beautiful family during this difficult time. We all need to rally together and help this family in there moment of need.

Darrin is just an outstanding individual who has succeeded in every endeavor he has turned his hand to. Although he’s been involved in the fitness industry for the past 12 years he spend the 10 prior serving the community in the NSW Police Force both in general duties and later as a detective. Many people would know he’s an avid Souths fan but most wouldn’t know he played over 50 lower grade games with the Rabbitohs in the early 90’s – he just isn’t the type of person to brag about things like that.

Please share with as many of Darrin’s friends as you can reach out to, whether it be people he knew growing up and playing football, when he was in the police force or working in the gym we want to reach as many people as possible so feel free to use Facebook, private messages, messenger, WhatsApp messages or any other platform.

We also understand many of you will want to reach out to Tania and the family, but please for now just give them some space to work through this – please leave your well wishes and messages of support here and the family will make sure Darrin see them.
