Policeman found dead in station
Detectives are investigating the death of a police officer at Lismore on the NSW north coast.
They say the body of the probationary constable was found in a room at the back of the Lismore Police Station early this morning.
He suffered a bullet wound to the head.
Acting Northern Region Commander Peter Wadsworth says all police were saddened by the tragic loss.
Assistant Commissioner Wadsworth said a report is being prepared for the coroner, but there appeared to be no suspicious circumstances.

Constable’s death not suspicious: police
Senior police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death of a 33-year-old Probationary Constable at the Lismore police station in northern NSW.
The man’s body was found early yesterday morning in a room at the back of the police station in Molesworth Street.
He suffered a bullet wound to the head and a police service pistol was found in the room.
Acting northern region Commander Peter Wadsworth says a report on the death is being prepared for the coroner.
