The NSW Police Historical Society’s exhibitions were of great public relations value for
the Society and the Police Department. The exhibitions were well patronised by
departmental officials, such as Leo Vineburg and Police Minister Peter Anderson. Peter
Anderson was genuinely interested in the preservation of police history and joined the
Society as an ordinary member. Peter Anderson was a police prosecutor before he
became a politician. Inspector George Stone, who was in charge of the Police Public
Relations Branch, attended one of the exhibitions at Wentworthville and officiated in the
awarding of plaques for the best displays.
The NSW Police Historical Society’s displays in the Holroyd area were also supported by
Allan Ezzy, who was a police prosecutor and also a councillor on Holroyd Council. Allan
Ezzy served as Mayor of Holroyd for several terms.

He was Senior Prosecutor at the Downing Centre, Senior State Licensing Prosecutor, Prosecutor assisting the Coroner and undertook prosecution duties in Sydney and the country.

Man used stick to drive car, bail hearing told
SYDNEY: A man charged with the murder of Tess Debrincat, 5, had used a stick to drive the car involved in her death, a court heard yesterday.
Mr Michael John Valancic, 30, an invalid pensioner, had admitted being in the stolen vehicle but denied involvement in the shotgun attack which killed Tess, prosecutor Sergeant Allan Ezzy told Westmead Coroners Court.
Mr Valancic, of Seven Hills, appeared before Coroner Hand to apply for bail, unsuccessfully.
Tess was hit by a shot fired through the front door of her parents’ home at Quakers Hill, in Sydney’s far west, on May 24.
Mr Wayne John Attard, 32, of Blacktown, and Mr Glenn Thomas Bessant, 26, of Wagga, also have been charged with her murder.
Mr Attard is on $445,000 bail while Mr Bessant, like Mr Valancic, has been remanded in custody till December 3.
The court was told that Mr Valancic drove the vehicle while Mr Bessant fired shots into the Debrincat home. Sergeant Ezzy said Mr Bessant, in his record of interview, had said Mr Valancic was able to drive using a stick, and three other witnesses had told police they had seen him drive that way.
Mr Valancic had told police that although he was in the vehicle that night he had not been involved in “anything untoward”. The prosecutor said witnesses had seen two men, including one in a wheelchair, leaving the car in Sunnyholt Road, Blacktown, later that evening.
In refusing bail, Mr Hand said he believed Mr Valancic was unlikely to appear if bail was granted, and he held fears for the safety of witnesses alleging to have seen him that night.
