A man – who from the very foundation, of the Gold Coast Branch – continually dedicated himself to the problems of others as a member of our ‘Welfare Support Team’ for many, many, years – now finds himself experiencing personal difficulties.
I speak of ‘Foundation Member’ Bob WILSON. A more compassionate and caring human being would indeed be truly difficult to find. Bob volunteered to be a Welfare Officer at that very first (inaugural) meeting and continued in that role over very many years until recently.
This man has devoted many, many hours of his own time, to help others in need for no reason, save his endearing capacity for compassion. He has – though no longer a member of our Welfare Team – continued to ‘pop in’ and visit members incapacitated for a variety of problems at Nursing Homes and other venues.
Bob is experiencing some fairly significant problems with his heart and lungs and has been hospitalized on several occasions. He recently advised me that he and dear wife Irene are shortly heading to Sydney to consult a specialist Professor – we wish them all the very best and truly hope that a solution is found for his problems.
