* Story behind any Nickname:

Colin Dyson

I travelled up to Glenn Innes in the ‘80’s with Bruce Coates, a mate of Glash’s. He invited us to his home for dinner.
When we arrived Glash was sitting on a cell blanket in his lounge room, surrounded by his shoes and shoe polish.
Bruce said to him no wonder they call you Flash Glash.
Always impeccably dressed, I found him to be a very nice bloke.
Ran into him at the Academy and a few other places over the years.
Always a pleasant bloke.
RIP.

  • First met Glash at North Sydney in the early 70’s and much later at IA. What a wonderful bloke, and yes, I referred to him as Flash Glash. RIP old mate and thanks for the memories. Condolences to his family. Oh, bytheway, he swung a mean golf club.
