Remember him from the old Central Coast days when I was a member of the MCSN
With great sadness I have learnt of the passing of John Haldane, John worked at the Police Driver Training School at the time my late husband was there – John Foster. I had the pleasure of knowing Annie Haldane as well, and the love they had for each was so lovely to see. Both retired in due time and John Haldane lived at Kendall, and John and I retired to Bonny Hills, this enabled their friendship to be renewed. John Haldane was well read and indeed wrote a couple of books, one being about his life in the Police Force which was a great read, great humour, interesting tales of his police journey, and loving mention of his family and grandchildren. John ,it was a great pleasure to have known you, go now and rest in peace knowing you will be lovingly remembered.
I worked with John at the Driving School, St Ives during the late 70’s early 80’s. He was a riot of a bloke, always joking and fun to be around. I lost track of him when I left the Police and then later caught up with him again around 2001/2002 when we bumped into each other at Woy Woy Police Station. He was a Senior Constable then, so I suppose that was during his second stint in the cops. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. He was such a nice bloke. It was a real pleasure to have worked with him and I have so many fond memories from those days. RIP my friend. We will meet again some day.
