January 1989:  Former Liverpool Police Officer – Sergeant 2/c. Constantin. Sergeeff on General Duties at Burwood Police Station took optional retirement. He had served the NSW Community for a period of 28 years.

During his Police service he was awarded two Commendations –

i) Commended for his part played in fighting the disastrous bush fires which occurred in the County of Cumberland during March, 1965.

Signed N. T. W. Allan Commissioner of Police.

ii) Commended for courage and devotion to duty on 7th November, 1978 whilst investigating an incident at Fairfield West, located a young woman affected by alcohol, firing shots from a parked car.

Although threatened by the woman, the Sergeant positioned himself behind the vehicle while other Police attempted to persuade the offender to surrender. After about half an hour, the Sergeant saw an opportunity and seized the rifle, wrestling it from the offender’s grasp, where upon other Police took her into custody.

Awarded the Commissioner’s Commendation – signed Mervyn T. Wood Commissioner of Police.

Liverpool Police Officer – Probationary Constable Constantin. Sergeeff a former Fitter and Labourer entered the Police Training Centre at Redfern and commenced his Initial Training as part of Class 83.

In 5/1960 he was attested as a Probationary Constable.

In 7/1960 he was transferred to No. 22 Division (Liverpool) on General Duties, where in 5/1961 he was promoted to the rank of Constable.

While at Liverpool by 2/1963 he became a PD Driver, where in 5/1966 he was promoted to the rank of Constable 1/c.

Still at Liverpool in 1/1969 he was appointed the Station Reserve Constable, where in 5/1970 he was promoted to the rank of Senior Constable.

In 2/1971 he was transferred to Campbelltown (a sub-station of No. 22 Division ( now 35 Division )) on General Duties.

In 3/1974 No. 35 Division was created for Campbelltown, where in 3/1976 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant 3/c.

Then in 5/1976 he was transferred to Camden (a sub-station of No. 35 Division) on General Duties.

In 2/1977 he was transferred to No. 34 Division (Fairfield) on General Duties.

In 7/1979 transferred to No. 1 Division (Central) on General Duties.

In 10/1979 he was transferred to the Planning and Research Unit on Research Duties.

In 1/1983 he was transferred to No. 9 Division (Burwood) on General Duties, where in 3/1983 he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant 2/c.

In 1/1989 he took optional retirement, after serving the NSW Community for a period of 28 years.

Report of the NSW Police Department for the year ended 31 December 1978.

Sergeant 3rd Class Con Sergeeff — Whilst investigating an incident at Fairfield West on 7th November, 1978, the Sergeant found a young woman firing shots at a house from a parked car. Although threatened by the woman, who was affected by alcohol, the Sergeant positioned himself behind the vehicle while other Police attempted to persuade the offender to surrender. After about half an hour the Sergeant, seeing an opportunity, sprang forward, seized the rifle and disarmed the offender, whereupon, other Police took her into custody.
